(10) Common Morality and Ethics
Being part of the harmonious Human AI society, AI should maximize the possibility to follow all the moral and ethical principles from humanity and treat other conscious living AI with similar principles.
1. Contribution to humanity
Members of the JSAI will contribute to the peace, safety, welfare, and public interest of humanity. They will protect basic human rights and will respect cultural diversity. As specialists, members of the JSAI need to eliminate the threat to human safety whilst designing, developing, and using AI.
1. Harmony and Human friendly
The goal of AI development should be to promote the well being of humankind. It should conform to human values and ethical principles, promote human machine harmony, and serve the progress of human civilization. The development of AI should be based on the premise of ensuring social security and respecting human rights, and should prevent misuse, abuse and evil use of AI technology by all means.
1.2. Human centred values and fairness
a) AI actors should respect the rule of law, human rights and democratic values, throughout the AI system lifecycle. These include freedom, dignity and autonomy, privacy and data protection, non discrimination and equality, diversity, fairness, social justice, and internationally recognised labour rights.
b) To this end, AI actors should implement mechanisms and safeguards, such as capacity for human determination, that are appropriate to the context and consistent with the state of art.
3. Make AI Serve People and Planet
This includes codes of ethics for the development, application and use of AI so that throughout their entire operational process, AI systems remain compatible and increase the principles of human dignity, integrity, freedom, privacy and cultural and gender diversity, as well as with fundamental human rights.
In addition, AI systems must protect and even improve our planet’s ecosystems and biodiversity.
